Material

The ankh appears in Egyptian art and ceremonial objects from the Early Dynastic period onward, c. 3100 BCE. In temple reliefs and tomb paintings, it is held by deities toward the nose or lips — a gesture connected to breath and the continuation of life. In jewelry made for royal women, the same symbol appeared in a smaller, more intimate form.

This piece translates that symbol into a pendant necklace. Proportions kept light for daily wear, surface left undecorated — the form does the work. Available in sterling silver and 18k gold vermeil. Simple, sculptural, and meant to be worn every day without needing to be noticed.
