Lotus Column Earrings

The lotus column comes from Egyptian temple architecture of the Old Kingdom onward, c. 2686 BCE. Temple columns often took the form of plants — lotus, papyrus, palm — rising from stone like stems from the Nile. These forms were not only structural. They carried the language of growth, renewal, and the ordered world held in place. The lotus in particular was closely associated with women in Egyptian ritual — a symbol of emergence, beauty, and life returning from water.
